Pittsburgh Bowlers Tour 2009-2010 Scratch Rules and Format
RULES
There are two divisions and two separate prize funds within each tournament (1) Open Division - Open to all bowlers (all added money will be in this division). (2) Seniors (Age 55 & Over) and Ladies Division
Tournaments are not sanctioned, but USBC rules apply.
No dues.
Cashing ratio is one in five. In Division (1), bowlers can cash twice (four times in our two-day tournaments), but only once in the finals. In Division (2), bowlers can cash in each division, if they pay the Division (1) entry fee (which would only be an additional $34). Bowlers eligible for Division (2), can enter Division (1) by declaring what division they wish to enter at sign in.
High School and College bowler’s winnings can be deposited into their SMART account.
Tournament Director has final say in all matters.
DIVISION (1) ENTRY FEES - CASH or CREDIT CARD $49 Entry Fee - $34 Prize Fund, $15 Bowling/Expenses $1,000 1st PLACE GUARANTEED, regardless of entries, in tournaments with $1,000 added money. $1,000 1st PLACE GUARANTEED, with fifty entries, in tournaments with $500 added money.

DIVISION (2) SENIORS AGE 55 & OVER and LADIES ENTRY FEES - CASH or CREDIT CARD $49 Entry Fee - $34 Prize Fund, $15 Bowling/Expenses. $500 1st PLACE GUARANTEED, with thirty entries. Bowlers can cash twice in this division (four times in our two-day tournaments). Qualifying totals from each squad will be merged into one prize fund. There are no finals in this division. Bowlers from Division 2 can bowl in Division 1 for an additional $34 entry fee (prize money only).
ENTERING MULTIPLE SQUADS If you decide to enter both squads (or four squads in our two-day events), once you make the finals, you can not better your position in one of the other squads. In that scenario, you would be bowling for cash only. Example: if you make the finals in your first attempt in, say, position 6, and you decide to bowl the second squad and finish 1st, you would automatically drop to the highest cashing position NOT making it to the finals. You would get the money for that spot plus any bracket and pot game money you might have won.
QUALIFYING SQUAD TIMES AND FORMAT: Two Squad times: 11:00 am & 1:00 pm Format: (1) Qualifying squads are four games. (2) Qualifying cuts will be by squad, based on total pins, which will not be carried over into the finals.
FINALS Time: Finals will be held at 3:00 pm Format: Single game elimination matches, a maximum of eight bowlers per squad will qualify for the finals. Based on qualifying positions, these finalists will bowl single game matches, against the other finalists from their qualifying squad. The remaining winners of each squad will bowl to determine a champion. In our two-day tournaments, the remaining winners will bowl two games to determine a champion. Based on entries, byes may be awarded.
Optional Super Pot - $10 Entry Fee One winner (ties divided equally) - The bowler with the highest paying position in the finals. Example - 30 Entries = $300 Super Pot, plus prize fund.
Doubles Baker Doubles, which will give each team a four games qualifying total. $98 Entry fee - $83 Prize Fund, $15 Bowling/Expenses. $2,000 1st PLACE GUARANTEED, with fifty entries, and $500 added money.
HOMESTEAD CLUB OPEN - Squad times 10:00 am & 1:00 pm - A maximum of thirty-two bowlers per squad. The winner of each squad will bowl two games, with total pins determining the champion.
