Pittsburgh Bowlers Tour 2010-2011 Rules and Format
STORM SPONSORSHIP A Storm Three Ball Bag will be given, by raffle, from all pre-paid entries, for the 11:00 am squad.
THREE DIVISIONS with a separate prize fund for each division.
Division 1 - Open to all bowlers
Division 2 - Senior - Age fifty thru fifty nine
Division 3 - Super Senior - Men age sixty and over and Ladies
DIVISION 1 - OPEN $50 Entry Fee - $35 Prize Fund, $15 Bowling/Expenses. $1,000 1st place guaranteed, regardless of entries, with $1,000 added money. $1,000 1st place guaranteed, with sixty entries, in tournaments with $500 added money. All Freeway tournaments, Mid Year, and E-O-Y, $3.000 1st place guaranteed, with one hundred twenty entries.
DIVISION 2 SENIOR - Senior age fifty through fifty nine. DIVISION 3 SENIOR - Senior age sixty and over and ladies. Qualifying will be three games. All added money will be in division 2. $500 1st place guaranteed, regardless of entries, and $1,000 1st place guaranteed with sixty entries. Squad times are 11:00am and 1:00pm. Finals, for Meadows only, at 3:00pm, single game elimination matches. There are no senior finals in tournaments with three divisions.
MEADOWS SENIORS Scratch and Handicap divisions - Qualifying will be three games. All added money is in the scratch division, with $500 1st place guaranteed, regardless of entries. In the handicap division, $300 1st place guaranteed, with thirty entries. Bowlers can cash in each division, by paying the additional prize money. Squad times are 11:00am and 1:00pm. There are no finals in the handicap division. Scratch finals are single game elimination matches. Bowlers must provide proof of average. Handicap basis is 80% of 220, 70 pin maximum per game.
MEADOWS LADIES ONLY Handicap and Scratch divisions - Qualifying will be three games. All added money is in the handicap division, with $500 1st place guaranteed, regardless of entries. In the scratch division, $300 1st place guaranteed, with thirty entries. Bowlers can cash in each division, by paying the additional prize money. Squad times are 11:00am and 1:00pm. There are no finals in the scratch division. Handicap finals are single game elimination matches. Bowlers must provide proof of average. Handicap basis is 80% of 220, 70 pin maximum per game.
TOURNAMENT RULES Tournament Director has final say in all matters. No PBA exempt players. USBC rules apply. Cashing ratio is one in five. Bowlers can cash twice, but only once in finals. High school and college bowler's winning will be deposited into their SMART account.
QUALIFYING SQUAD TIMES 11:00 am & 1:00 pm - Unless noted.
QUALIFYING FORMAT Four game qualifying - Unless noted. Qualifying cuts are by squad, based on total pins. No pins carried over in finals.
FINALS 3:00 pm - Single game elimination matches, unless noted. A maximum of eight bowlers, per squad, will qualify for the finals, which are single game elimination matches. The winners of each squad will bowl to determine a champion. Byes may be awarded.
MEADOWS, Homestead Club, & Joseph Holubeck St. Clair Trio - Squad winners will bowl two games, with total pins determining the champion.
CORAL Appliance Warehouse Open and Nesbit's New Years Open - Qualifying squads will be three games at Coral and four games at Nesbit's, Squad times are 9:00 am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm. The winner of each squad (3 bowlers), will bowl two games, with total pins determining the champion. At Nesbit's, $500 1st place guaranteed.
KISKI VALLEY OPEN - Matt's Pro Shop is donating a bowling ball, which will be added to the winner of the Storm Bowling Bag 11:00 am raffle.
AMF PITTSBURGH CHAMPIONSHIP All bowlers will bowl three games at 11:00am, at AMF Bowling City, and three games, at 3:00pm, at AMF Noble Manor. Based on total pins for the six games, one in five bowlers will qualify for the finals (maximum of sixteen) at AMF Noble Manor. $1,000 1st place guaranteed, based on sixty entries.
BRUNSWICK PITTSBURGH CHAMPIONSHIP - All bowlers will bowl three games at 11:00am, at Brunswick 51, and three games, at 3:00pm, Brunswick Playmor. Based on total pins for the six games, one in five bowlers will qualify for the finals (maximum of sixteen) at Brunswick Playmor. $1,000 1st place guaranteed, with sixty entries.
FREEWAY DOUBLES - Qualifying is six games. Bowlers will alternate each ball. Finals are two games, total pins. $2,000 1st place guaranteed, with sixty entries.
FREEWAY OVER/UNDER AGE FIFTY DOUBLES - Qualifying is six games. Bowlers will alternate each ball. Finals are two games, total pins. $2,000 1st place guaranteed, with on sixty entries.
JOSEPH HOLUBECK TRIO - Three bowler team requirements: One bowler age forty five and over, one bowler age forty four and under, and one female bowler. $3,000 1st place guaranteed, regardless of entries. Squad times are Saturday, 12:00pm and 2:00pm, and Sunday, 10:00am, and 12:00pm. Teams are permitted three ladies, as long as the age requirements are met. There is a maximum of twenty teams per squad. Lanes will oiled after each squad. The winner of each squad will bowl two games, with total pins determining the champion.
SQUAD SPONSOR - Bring seven new bowlers (pre paid), and receive a promotional entry for that tournament.
