In 1986, the Pittsburgh Tournament Bowlers’ Association (PTBA) was introduced. The name has now been changed to The Pittsburgh Bowlers’ Tour, but the basic concept has remained true: Giving the local bowlers tournaments, so they don’t have to travel outside of our area to get quality tournament action.
Since 1986, over $300,000 has been added, all without charging any dues. There have been many incentives added to the prize funds over the years as well. Several hundred bowling balls have been given away. Also, spots were included in the prize funds for major tournaments such as the Hoinke Classic (out of Cincinnati), the TAT (True Amateur Tournament) in Las Vegas; the Masters, and a High Roller Entry.
Our tournaments are for the Scratch bowlers, with divisions for seniors (Age 50-59 – Division 2); seniors (Age 60 & Over – Division 3); and Handicap – Division 4 – which also includes the Ladies’ Only.
